Christ is Arson

is anything as obligatory as an addict’s frantic zealotry?
surmounting demonic difficulties - the sophistry
the illusion: out of this world.

eatable, sacred crutches sustain;
feed the feeble minded brain

interchange a living misery for perpetual sorrow,
slavish castration of a human spiritual hollow.

nailed to the needle.

Play the bible backwards;
the new ending befits the
major exposé of an entirety.

on this mattress stained,
the sweat of a thousand
dead punks percolates
turmoil. (D rearranged)

in the grain of this dead wood timber frame,
the leached sanity of too many derelict converts
reverberates the shame

and the failure.
a moment of clarity

hark - the brimstone decolouration
of a nihilist lunatic emanating crepitation,
witness flame upon this convent oubliette, as
pederast priest skin, opalescent and pallid,
friar, faithless and gone,
fuses with that of the diaphanous,
cruel, forgiving Superior and
the godless fiend - all

become one;
bulldozed
debris
dust.
.
Ancient history.

  1. So many take their views and opress or press them on others, bulldozed indeed. You really gave them a whirl, reverberating the vibrating shame.

  6. Fierce write, man. A lot of "sad but true" in here. "nailed to the needle" and "Play the bible backwards" - fantastic lines. Great closer too.

  7. Addicted to god, because what can get you higher than thinking you're the flaming crown of creation, able to moan out that deathbed repentance for every evil that dirty mattress has soaked up. Bonus points for crepitation and oubliette, personal favorites. Another scorching bitch of a poem, Arron..I'd type more, but it hurts.;_)

  8. This never gets old because it's always true - what a strange paradox religion is - creating evil where none existed, frightening people who were innocent, seeking to control their minds as well as their pocket books. The Mafia didn't invent this, they just refined it into a power machine!

  10. Arron,
    Oubliette indeed! That's scary..."play the bible backward." Yes, suits me. But with so much invested in the ensuing editorial comment over the millenia, is that likely? One doesn't know which page to turn (forward or backward). This piece is exciting and thought provoking, as per the usual.

  14. "crepitation", "sophistry" - you play with words easily and tie them into your dystopian rap-like bitch slap of a piece - this thing NEEDS to be read aloud! on the streets even haha - gotta love "Play the bible backwards; the new ending befits the
    major exposé of an entirety." - and the kind of imploding close - powerful write Arron! cheers
